See post above. Your opinion has for all intensive purposes, been proven wrong.

I thought forests were made of trees. If there is no forest, are there still trees? If so, are they isolated? And for how long will there still be trees without forests? Jim

No, but it doesn't oppose your opinion either. Since we do not know WHO voted in the poll, we can't correlate the poll data to the BWOT poster preference analysis. Best we can do is SWAG it.

What the poll and the BWOT poster preference analysis tell us is that the board is fairly balanced in membership. We DO have nearly equal numbers of Right and Left leaning [or dressing] members with a nice mix of Independents/Libertarian/Martians as well.

What would be really interesting to do would be to actually do a SURVEY of all BWOT posters [with over 30-50 or so posts] and provide them with a selection of political definitions and have them figure which bucket THEY think they fit in. With assembly of the finished surveys, anonymity would be injected and just raw data could be posted up. Party Definitions would come from some common think tank that is reasonably respected [although getting definitions OKed would be the humorous part]

^ Depends on which "opinion". My focus is on the 3 Obama opponents. Three. Wrong. Proven wrong.

Correct. That initial opinion is toast. It is just that the poll didn't prove that one way or the other which was his next question. That is why I answered as I did.

This is America. We don't audit polls and elections for the sake of verifying results. What we can do is canvas and analyze demographics to see if the results are at least possible and preferably, reasonable. For example, it town of 3000 elects a mayor by a 5000 vote margin, it might be time to reassess.

MP is clearly using the Bushist vs. Anti-Bushist lens. I suspected he was, but his revisions demonstrate it clearly. If you oppose Bush, you're blue -- the end. Lemme guess -- Ron Paul is blue, John McCain is blue, and so were Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan, right? Even 41 opposes GW's foreign policy.

Frankly, I don't see Bush as either liberal or conservative, he is a radical, and a radical who fronts for two groups of radicals that have essentially hijacked the GOP. My lens (for the coloring) is party affiliation -- Dem (traditional) vs. GOP (traditional) vs. other.
