I found McCain a rehash of his typical cliches, which seemed surreal given that the theme of his speech "Can't we all just get along?" clashed with his convention, which was a red meat hatchet attack on Democrats, not to mention his hiring of a shrill Right Wing Nut Job as his running mate. I had to relieve my boredom somehow. A lot of my neighbors are Republicans, so I took my 90 lb dog for a walk so he could shit on their lawns while they pursued the Republican pasttime, which is being enthralled by blatant hypocrisy pouring from their TV or AM radio. I gave him a "good puppy" treat everytime he dropped a big dooky on a house where we could see Honky America glued to McCain thru the living room window.
McCain used to be a decent man. There really is no one in politics I am more disappointed with. Somehow starting in 2004, he decided to ape Bush that employing self-serving hypocrisy, shalllow-minded thinking and RWNJ propaganda speak was his path to the presidency. God I hope we has a nation have not sunk so low that we will prove this mindset correct a third time.
Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
-President Barack Obama, 1st Inaugural address
