Correct McCain is not qualified either.
I'm glad someone understands how taxes work. If there is a cost it must be passed on to the people that are using the service.
I stand corrected. That's what I get for blindlessly believing the rhetoric of the media. >< Look how many of those bills are Honor people bills. WTH? Why is congress so concerned with all of this giving special days to people? Out of all of those bills on that list only like 5 of them actually made a difference to the masses on a daily basis.
EVERY senator and rep does that. It is the "honor the old guy" or war hero or volunteer of 50 years thing. It doesn't mean much to anyone but the family but considering the service of most of the people being honored, it is a minor time spent.
Now, about the taxes, not everyone is using that schoolbus but everyone pays. Right?
Now if Iraq had not been Invaded we would not have had as much turmoil in the Middle East with troops, bombing, threats to pipelines and supplies and the commodities traders would have been much less likely to start the artificial spin up of prices.
Earlier you asked when the president became in control of gas prices. Well, in a bunch of indirect ways. Iraq was one. Economics policies that depreciated the Dollar are another. Failure to act on Alternative Energy proposals [by shelving them] in 2001 is yet another. Spending six years with a Republican Congress and not doing anything with Off Shore drilling is another [and then making a big deal about it when it becomes political with a Democratic Congress].
So school districts are hammered with less funding, inflation, increased energy costs for both gasoline and heating/utility costs and most are confined by state law from levying extra taxes above and beyond those voted by their districts.
