OK, it was a gimmick pick, pandering, etc. Get over that. Ready for the job? Nah. However:
Within hours I concluded that MSNBC = Fox. They had only 2 stories posted about Palin on the i-Phones front page, one about Roe V Wade now being front and center (ie - fear mongering at its finest) and one about the state trooper brother in law (where Palin has told her critics to bring it on). Nothing about the policies that garnered an 80% approval rating, nothing about cleaning up the good ole GOP boys network up there in the wilderness, nothing about taking on big oil. Anybody who will assert that she'll get a fair shake from our media is full of it.
Then here on BWOT, there are several who have been quite righteous at the suggestion that an 'ism card was being played by one side or the other, who now are showing their own 'isms. There wasn't a single acceptable candidate for VP on the short list for them, anyways. And, JH'isms abound from some who detest it.
If she can avoid being assimilated, she'll be quite good for the GOP. They got their asses kicked because of their corrupt, on the take, hypocritical foot tapping ways in 2006, deserved every bit of it. The party needs refreshing and redirected towards the smaller government, conservative approach that the electorate found attractive in 1994. If she avoids assimilation, she can lead that charge. She should travel down to Texas and spend some time with Ron Paul while forming her opinions and approaches to national policy.
That is all . . . ism away.
