Holy crap! A lot worse than I would have guessed. Just think, a foot aft and 7 or 8 inches towards aircraft right and bye bye door. I guess that 12 year old bottle didn't mellow with age like a good whisky.

I must say I'm a little surprised at the imo rather flimsy mounting system for the oxygen bottles considering the bumps and stress a aircraft like that would injure over a long service, any trained diver knows the dangers of a full air bottle, let alone one full of oxygen, treated with the up most respect? or lashed to the wall as an after thought ?.

VV, having been a diver for many years, I don't disagree!!

Having been a passenger on MANY a 747 I am a little surprised how simple the attachments for a critical piece of equipment are also...

Bloody lucky no-one got hurt....
