I'm developing a pet theory about Harvard's MBA programs, and their hand in developing this "new school" of business administration. We're approaching 30 years of shortsighted profiteering as a substitute for making tough decisions and thinking long-term in corporate America, and we're suffering for it every day. This wasn't invented in a board room. My contention is that this has been preached in MBA programs, or the idea of "delivering shareholder value" has been twisted into this deranged mission to sacrifice every other principle or successful aspect of a company in the name of immediate profit.
