Funny Jaywak, you never bitched when this was being said by every RWNJ in the country about Bush. Pretty mean spiritied for the RWNJs to even make an issue of this, if you ask me, nevermind the blatant hypocrisy in regards to Jesus Bush, the great messiah come to save us all, at one time at least. Myself, I have no problems with comments like this. I thought it was a nice thing to say. My fourth son was delivered alive and healthy despite being almost strangled by his umbillical cord during his birth. For three days we listened to his heart beat on a monitor, going up and down as he fought for life as the doctors slowly turned him in an attempt to unwrap the umbilical cord from around his neck so he could be born. We named him "Matthew", which is the Hebrew word that means "a gift from God", which he truly is. Just a few decades ago it would have been a foregone conclusion that he would have been lost or severely retarded, and the boy is a challenge to my own agnosticism. I would deny no one the right to say this about anyone.
Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
