By the Russian puppet(s) in South Osetia.

By USA if you mean that USA gave them false impression that it is ready to start WW III for them.

no, but similar "permission" USA gave them that USA gave to Saddam with respect to Kuwait; that's the agitation, imho.

read ftl's comment. he is usually right on.

I don't think US gave him any kind of permission. I think he "assumed" he had a permission.

As of FTL post, I really liked "The fall of the Soviet Onion..." I think it is a Freudian typo.

So this means you thin he is stupid enough to take on the might of the russian bear? Without a little persuasion from the US? Come on wake up man the west could loose a vital oil line connection that runs through Georgia.

OIL Read my thread on something fishy abou the Georgia thing and read the links that people have put in - interesting stuff.

Exactly why were the good old US of A training soldiers on the russian border? It stretches the mind a tad does it not?

If we go back to the Cuban problem in the 60s Russia wanted to put missiles in Cuba and look at the American reaction. But that was a cold war period and now we have an oil war period,

Russia's is a puppet government with Putin pulling the strings. We support Georgia to a point but Saakashvili is a loose cannon.
