Skhool dress code

Are schools liable now for not enforcing the dress code in the lima bean capital
of the world ?

Family of gay teen slain in Calif. blames school
Allowing boy to wear makeup and feminine clothes led to death, they say
Phil Mccarten / AP file
Students gather around a makeshift memorial at E.O. Green middle school in Oxnard, Calif., honoring gay student Lawrence King, 15, who was killed by a classmate in February.
...
King, an eighth-grader at E.O. Green Junior High School, was shot in February. Classmate Brandon McInerney pleaded not guilty to the shooting last week. He was charged as an adult and also faces a charge of a committing a hate crime.

The family's claim, filed last week in Ventura County Superior Court, said administrators and teachers failed to enforce the school's dress code when King wore feminine clothing and makeup to school.

School caught between a rock and a hard place - if they don't let the kid dress like a woman, they get sued for discrimination, or they get this. Myself, I'm surprised they let the kid do it, schools are given wide latitude by the courts when they state the reason for their actions is to prevent distractions or what could cause disruptive behavior that can affect the education process, it is how they ban political T-shirts and get away with it. I think this obviously fell under "could cause disruptive behavior". The school is going to lose.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

So the school should do the parenting now instead of the parents?

Given the state of your averaged tattoed booze and dope swilling parenting in the US, I wish they would take them all away from their parents for about eight years.

not that I care so much about where the capital should be, but I do remember this reference from a decade ago:
