sorry to post whore, but this time around, each of you deserves a separate post.

I just got tailed by A5 (the new A4 is basically a 4-door version of it) today, with the redesigned LED daytime running lights. I don't like the new headlights (althogh I know I will appreciate more legroom in the rear for the 2009 A4). That squiggly LED DRL is downright annoying.

Where I live, Quattro is a must especially in winter, but with torrential downpours we're experiencing this summer, Quattro is really paying its dividends.

Mileage is not as great compared to CVT models and the fact that we're in hilly area does not help when it comes to daily driving (21mpg avg, formidable still), but whenever we take longer drives, our A4 Avant can easily stretch to 31mpg with a little care (no jackrabbit starts, use cruise control, and no hard braking).

In short, we love our Audi too.
You're right about the CVT wrt quattro... it's only avail w/FWD and I think they call it 'multitronic' for no good reason. It's not likely to appeal to serious driving enthusiasts really because it's very much of a slushbox in operation. But, that said, you can modulate it for incredible mileage around town. With minor attention it stays around 2200rpm no matter what you're doing. Just won't win any drag races.

It never snows where I am and lately it doesn't even rain so I don't miss the AWD. But yeah you would need it.

The new A5 is awesome imho but the rear side windows don't go down. So my girl couldn't put her head out of the window. No go

2009 A4 will solve that problem. Same platform as A5, operable rear windows.

You know what's way cute is the A3. I have no idea if I could fit in one though.

Notice I choose rear views because I remain diffident at best about the new grilles. They remind me of this guy's mandible

Wow I didn't realize that the 09 was out already. Very slick.
Audi of America > See All Models > Audi A4

I never see TV commercials so I'm behind the times. I even have to catch my McCain commercials online. What would I do without those. But I digress.

Audi for those who cannot afford Audi, though prices for some trims creep up to the A4 pricing territory.

I'd rather rebadge a 1991 Honda Prelude as Audi A5 than to drive an A3.
