So, you don't believe the shit has hit the fan, NOW? You are okay being held hostage by a bunch of grinning towel heads that would rather see us dead? Ohhhhh, that's it. You're a chicken shit. You're afraid we'll piss them off and make them come after us if we quit using their oil. Well, hellllooooo! They already hate us and are already coming after us. So, why should we enrich the bastards any further by purchasing their oil?
As for Chavez and his oil, he has the worst oil on the planet. That sulfur packed tar based sour shit costs way too much to refine. For someone who pretends to be eco friendly, you sure don't mind polluting the place refining oil that's barely worth $80 at $147 barrel prices. It's time to tap our supplies, NOW. Not wait until something really serious happens and get caught with our drawers down around our ankles. Is that the position you'd rather assume?
You started this out like you were something other than one of the typical once celled organisms at the bottom of the food chain, but, my mistake.
First, the "towel heads" are selling us the oil for the same price they sell it to everyone else. What makes you think any oil from anywhere else, including oil that is drawn from reservoirs within the United States, will be sold to Americans for less than the price of the oil from the "grinning towel heads?" And how do you get the idea that using the ME oil first somehow indicates anyone is afraid of them? Are you high?
As it is, we have less oil than there is in the Middle East. If we use our oil now, and then, before we manage to fix our situation, we need oil from them again, I see us being in a more vulnerable position than if we used their oil until it was all gone and then used ours.
And it is AOK with me if we use Chavez's oil. Refine it in his country. Cleaning up natural gas and oil to remove sulfur and other junk is common. Many of those byproducts are used to make fertilizers and plastics and can be done without dumping the bad shit into the environment without controls. Chavez's oil is thousands of miles closer, which, when the world is really starving for oil, is going to make it a much more reliable source.
But hey, I see you are not much more than the other one celled gadgets around here. Be happy. Go drill some rock. Jim
