Robert Novak Retires Effective Immediately; Brain Tumor Diagnosis 'Dire'...

He's a man after my own heart! I will miss him...

Robert Novak has announced his immediate retirement following the diagnosis of a brain tumor, a prognosis the Sun-Times' political columnist describes as "dire."

"The details are being worked out with the doctors this week, but the tentative plan is for radiation and chemotherapy," Novak said.

The Evans-Novak column was first distributed by Publishers Newspaper Syndicate on May 15, 1963, with the New York Herald-Tribune, the flagship newspaper. When the Herald-Tribune folded in 1966, the Chicago Sun-Times became their home newspaper.

Sounds like he is in for an unpleasant check out. Sorry, that should not befall any member of the human race. Even a douche bag like him. Jim

While I think the man's political views were onerous and he was, many times a douchebag, I really hate to see anyone go through the ills of that kind of disease. It is particularly stressing on someone who is obviously bright to have his mental faculties at such staggering risk and know that the options are minimal at best.

Nobody needs to have the clock start in such a fashion.

This sort of answers one of my ten mysteries of life: Do leftwing brains cause cancer? It's a bit ironic (not ironical) that Ted Kennedy and Bob Novak both developed a brain tumor at about the same age and at about the same time...

Sorry to hear about it. Certainly makes you wonder if there's something to that whole "karma" thing; like the flip side of the Kennedy deal.

He's the other half of that half-witted Kennedy.

The biggest problems we are facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all and that’s what I intend to reverse.
