Why Screw Around, Pt. 1 - Margaritas
I'm starting a series of threads themed with my general philosophy - Why Screw Around? Anything worth doing, is worth doing right. Life's too short to eat or drink badly.
So, to begin, my favorite margarita. You can substitute whatever tequila or mix you want, but there are two irrefutable and absolute keys to a good margarita.
1) NEVER, EVER, use Cuervo products for anything but starting fires.
2) ALWAYS, eschew cheap Triple Sec in favor of Cointreau (pronounced "kwan-troe").
3 oz. Patron Silver Tequila
2 oz. Cointreau
Mr. & Mrs. T's Margarita Mix
Fill shaker to the top with crushed ice, and add ingredients. Top off with margarita mix, leaving about half an inch at the top. Shake vigorously for a few seconds, pour into tall glasses, or some of those fruity "margarita glasses" if you so desire.
The key is the Cointreau. Not Grand Marnier, not any other kind of triple sec; only Cointreau makes the magic.
