Something new

I have joined the ranks of car builder. My business partner over the last 2 years has been building a 1934 3 window coupe (Chevy) Last year on his way back from the street rod nationals he was side swiped by a lady on vicotin who later said she "blinked" and the car was totaled. Back to square one.
They were leaving 2 am Friday morning to go back down the the same car show as last year and this was the condition of the car when I showed up at 5:30 pm on Thursday afternoon. We have been very busy with the company and this leaves no time for our hobbies. The car had to be disassembled and removed from the bench and then reassembled and all the wiring etc. done to it. We stayed through the night and finished the car at 6 am Friday. A little behind schedule but on the way non the less. I have never put a car together from the ground up before but am now hooked, I can see why people do this now. I am looking forward to doing it again soon and even mentioned that around 3 am if staying and helping with the assembly gets me some shop time with a old Mercedes down the road. They laughed and said it was a muscle car shop only. But I know that I can work out the details on that later. I am glad I was able to help and seeing them pull out and hit the road was all the satisfaction I needed, but working all day Friday as they drove to Kentucky sucked. Another long day 6 am Thurs --6:PM Friday and my wife went camping with her girl friends so I had the kids all weekend alone. Something new-34-3-window.jpg

I did not make the trip down for the car show. I was the one to stay behind and run the company. We also had one of our guys leave for the next three weeks for National Guard duty, leaving me all alone as our part timers are busy with there own stuff right now. That explains my 6 am thurs - 6pm friday shift. I also had to take the kids on a service call on Sat. Dvd players in cars are the best invention ever.
