Haven't owned one in a few years, but when I did it cost me a thousand dollars to fix anything that broke. One of the problems is that they are so fast and handle so well you've always got your foot in it, which makes parts wear out faster. My wallet likes the stately acceleration and style of my Mercedes and my S3 Jag a lot better.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

They've had water cooled engines in the past, 968/944/928.

I know that but they were, in my opinion prototypes and never really took off. The cars looked good but the water cooled engine was a bag of shit. I think they have learned their lesson and are now turning out good engines and well engineered But parts are still expensive.

I wouldn't mind having a 914.

I used to own a few VW Bugs and the engines are identical.

Sure. And pigs and airplanes are the same thing, too.

The 928 had a pretty strong V8 engine and it was a popular car. Probably the fastest car I've ever owned, 0-60 in 6 seconds and a 13 second 1/4 mile. I wouldn't be surprised if the Ca-yenee engine was based on it. Is it a 90 degree V8?
