A real eggy fart once set off smoke alarm and I am very proud of it.

I have no high ceiling in my current home so I don't have to haul a ladder in my underwear.

I sleep in Brooks Brothers pyjamas. If I ever need to get out of bed, I reach out for Brooks Brothers silk nightgown in the summer and their terry cloth version in the winter

Double height foyers are hallmarks of MacMansions.

No double height foyer, house is a ranch -- a ranch with angled ceilings and variable ceiling heights that might inspire MC Escher. Two smoke alarms were going off, one at 12', the other at 14'. Unplugged 'em, they were still making noise, pulled the batteries out, they were still making noise. I took them out of the house and deposited them in the observatory, then put the 150 lb. ladder away, and went back to bed.

A .45, while initially a bit louder solutions the problem quicker, without the need to climb.

And how a 10' ladder fit in you underwear, we'll never know.

I was once tired of a street lamp shining too brightly and eradicated it with a 9 mil while my friend was on his cell. He just about shit. People are so sensitive about bullets over their heads. Reminds me of going hunting as a child with my brand spanking new 22. Wild turkeys flew overhead, far above my father and the other hunters. They were 20 ft. in front of me and couldn't see them although they heard them. They were none to pleased when I shot above their heads too. Jeez... what a bunch of pansies.

2am, noon or 4pm it does not matter. When its my day off, underwear is all I wear.

If those bastards don't like it they should stop looking into my porch window.

My apologies. You certainly do not come across as an inhabitant of MacMansions. What kind of ladder weighs 150lbs? or am I taking your text too literally?

Some smoke detectors may operate at high voltage, much like flashbulbs do; so even after disconnecting it, it may have held a sizeable current in its capacitors. It would have been fun to see what might have happened if you dumped them into a hot tub or koi pond instead of in the observatory.

The kind that weighs about half that when the two o'clock in the morning in your underwear rule doesn't apply...
