I didn't really ask a question about limited frequencies, I pointed out that the government interfering with the content the owner of the station has sold on the basis that there is only so many frequencies is quite a reach, and I stand by that. With the advance of broadcast media (how many channels on your tv and xm radio?) and the internet, the premise that SCOTUS ruling was based on is gone, a claim that those dirty, conniving radio stations won't let us play and free speech for ourselves is pure unadulterated BS, partisan spin.
The concept of limited frequencies may be outdated anyway. KBCO in Boulder broadcasts on sub-frequencies to special "HD radios" that appears to effectively double the amount of frequencies available on the FM spectrum.

That said, I see no reason for a fairness doctrine until the Democrats own all the stations.

McBare: you published contradictory information.

You wrote the doctrine didn't require or suggest censorship.

In the Miami Herald decision, the court said,"the doctrine "inescapably dampens the vigor and limits the variety of public debate." Maybe you just missed that.

Bullshit. All it takes is money. If you call-up any commercial radio station in America I'll bet you can buy any amount of air time you want. All you have to do is meet their price.

Hell you could buy the radio station and DIY. Maybe Soros would back that plan. Go for it!

The biggest problems we are facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all and thatís what I intend to reverse.

So in other words, money controls the democracy.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
