When it rains... bad stuff happens

Well it has been a lovely day here in Wisconsin. Not a cloud in sight. Got a call from my sister this morning on the answering machine. Something about my future brother in Law and then something about my uncle and 2 of my cousins.
My brother in law went in for emergency surgery around 1 am to have his appendix removed. They got it as it was about to burst. a little bigger then 11 cm. He is recovering. Then she gave me the other news...
My uncle runs the one farm left in the family and has taken over the milk route that my grandfather built up and did for 65 years. Early this morning or last night depending on how you want to look at it, He and 2 of his children were on their way back from dropping off a tanker truck at the plant and were coming home without a trailer. He was talking to my aunt on his phone letting her know where they were and when they would be home when a 60 year old man from Port Washington either never stopped at the stop sign, or never looked to see if it was clear, and pulled out in front of the tractor trailer. He is now deceased and they have been unable to determine if he had any passengers at this time. The truck rolled 3 times 1st sending my 11 year old cousin Heidi flying into a field, She was in the sleeper, My uncle went out on the next roll sending him onto the road, and my 14 year old cousin Ryan
managed to stay in the truck. After it landed wheels down he was able to stand on the seat to try to find everyone, the roof of the cab was ripped right off. Ryan has some broken disks in his back and needs surgery, Heidi had minor cuts and bruises and was released, My uncle Denny has a collapsed lung, broken ribs and bones and a "floating pelvis" which he went in for surgery for to stabilize it this morning. Say a little prayer for them and for the family of the man who was killed.
Thanks, Joel.

Well, the bright side is that you should be clear of anything else bad happening to your family for the next 92 years, so go ahead and start making long-term plans.

Hope they all heal up OK...best wishes.

Jeez, tell everyone that we are thinking about their speedy recovery. Sorry to hear about that. It is never good when that sort of thing happens.

Good luck and take care.

I sincerely wish them all the best.
Let's say one more word about seatbelts. The guy who tought me how to drive an 18 wheeler never wears them maintaining that you are better off being thrown the wreck. I fully disagree. There is also a net belt that secures you in the sleeper. I don't want to get preachy but seatbelt seatbelt seatbelt.

Man, that is tragic. My bad day doesn't seem so bad now.

Prayers too all involved.
