So you have a legal obligation to assist others, your own free will be damned. Tell me where that little jewel is in the COTUS...

That's your choice, and that's fine. It is another matter entirely to force that choice upon others as a matter of law.

I didn't say legal, it's more like moral so that makes it my opinion

Here's how I see suicide: Do you own your own body? If the answer is yes then suicide is a personal choice. If you do not own your own body then who does? The government?? Fuck that.

So for me, suicide is a non-issue except insofar as gov seizes a role in it. If you like purdy little pills or a guillotine or a gun, I don't give a damn. Go for it.

Suicide is violence, no matter how one sees it. Personal choice it is, albeit selfish one. Think of all the trauma, sorrow, questions and doubts those left behind have to deal with.

You can be blasé about suicide any way you want, but if one of your loved ones takes your gun and takes one's life, I doubt that you'd remain so cavalier about it.

*btw, I certainly do not wish for that to happen so please treat above as an absolute hypothesis.

If someone wants to kill themself then it is their right. Can't believe this is even a debate. Try to help but ultimately it is their choice.

You suppose things about me that you cannot know. It is your right to make suppositions but in this instance you could not possibly be more wrong.

Look, my life, your life, everybody who lives has this one shot at it and then it's annihilation. It is the only important thing that is wholly your own and nobody else's. To voluntarily give somebody else control over over one's existence is to me, wholly immoral.

If I choose to end my life at a time of my choosing I hope I have the decency to not leave a burden for others. That is an imposition. But that is a wholly separate question from the choice of whether to continue my life.

The biggest problems we are facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all and thats what I intend to reverse.

Wow, rabbit hole redux...

The point of the post was to bolster the glaringly obvious fact that a house with a gun is more likely to encounter gun violence, than one without.

btw, I'm not from Oregon, and I'm a strong advocate for assisted suicide, aka the right to responsibly die on one's own terms and conditions
