As a German, I wasn't totally happy with the home teams play.
To win the final vs Spain, they will have to find a higher gear.
Turkey played very well, and was a worthy opponent.
A German friend called me from Berlin, where half a million people watched the game on big screens around the Brandenburg Gate. Berlin has a sizeable Turkish population, with many being German citizens.
Some had one side of their cars decorated in the German, the other in the Turkish colors.
Most impressive to me, after the game, both sides partied together, with no fights.
I was surprised at the crushing defeat of Russia by Spain 0 - 3 today.

Sunday will tell.

Congrats to Germany, I hope that they will be the champion.
and don't forget World Cup 2002 either.

while my Armenian friends would bristle at the thought, I am a fan of Turkey, both the team and the country. Despite the injuries and suspensions, the remaining second string players showed that they are just as capable by giving their 200%. Watching the Turks play this tournament was like watching entire team of Gattusos, Edgar Davids, Joe Coles and Roy Keanes - definitely not a team comprised of spoilt prima donnas.

NO fights? remarkable. I would like to have seen the German team acknowledge the Turkish side's achievement after the match by inviting the Turkish team to thank the fans of both sides, much like the latter did for the South Koreans at the 2002 World Cup.

Although Germany is one of the most decorated national teams, it would be nice if they could win a title for Michael Ballack.

Russia had no open lanes because unlike the Dutch defense that looked more like the Swiss than their native Gouda or Edam cheeses, the Spaniards had seasoned veterans led by Puyol and the young Sergio Ramos was all over the field disrupting any potential Russian buildup for attack.

If history was to be brought in to motivate the Spaniards, perhaps this will just do it :

Not merely in Berlin but there are lots of Turks in Germany.

This is why I'm supporting the German side in the final, instinctively.

Well Congrats to Spain!

They won, and rightfully so.

As Russians before them, Germans had a bad day against Spain.

Spain could score more, could be 3:0 easily.

Well, second place is not bad I guess.
