Actually we are planning on building an kiln in the yard for pottery and also make it a multipurpose cooking tower. One side will have a brick oven the other will have an extension similar to what GS's pic shows and of course the main will be almost a walk in kiln. It's just a matter of figuring out the design and getting a permit.

Well, I am open for suggestions and confess to being pretty ignorant on the subject of what makes a good gas grill. That was the point of the thread. I only rarely have more than ten people over for a cookout, and that is usually a Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's event.
