The Gallbladder Thread
Well, it's about time to hit the hay. I'm now passing water about the same way as I consume it, so I should be hydrated enough to not puke myself to death while anesthetized. Surgery is at 9:00am, and I have to be at the surgical hospital at 7:00am with family in tow. I'm told the place is busier than Wal-Mart about this time in the morning.
Wish I could figure out how long the procedure will take, and what time I'll be heading home. I also wish I could figure out which will hurt worse - the knife wounds from the laparoscopy, or the remnants of CO2 they use to inflate my abdomen as it forms in pockets around my shoulders...I'm told it's the latter.
Looking forward to being able to eat what I want, drink freely, etc. My GB is suspected of being the culprit for flu-like symptoms I've had this week...been on huge bacterial infection-targeting antibiotics since yesterday, and my 102 degree temp is gone.
Nothing passes the lips past midnight, because I guess anesthesia can cause you to vomit even while you're out, and that gets into your lungs and you kinda die or something. My right ear has been ringing for about 3 hours, probably blood-pressure related, due to nerves...will see what I'm at here in a few minutes.
It'll be a relief when this is all over. No idea when I'll be cogent and pain-free enough to come back and ruin the hopes and dreams of Jakarta Expat, Jayhawk, DestroyerW140, et al, by confirming I've survived.
Debating whether or not to ask for the organ...you know, for memorabilia's sake. I wonder if I sold it on eBay for charity, what it would fetch....??? Is that illegal? Someone do me a favor and research it, I'll plan on asking to keep it. Worst case, I'll fling it at the first total douchebag I find driving with full disregard for the rules of the road.
Wish me luck,
