Yea, think I may have done something similar, but my husband just hit the button to shut me up. I think he'd like to have one of those on hand quite often.

An Update

I'm told it all went very well.

My fingers seem to have minds of their own; on Lortab, everything is a bit "disconnected" feeling if you will. I think this drug sucks, because the incision where they removed the gallbladder still hurts no matter what. Yes, I asked for the other, to no avail it would appear.

Follow-up appointment next week to see what I can/can't do still. Right now, what I can't do is stay focused on anything with my eyes because I'm so completely exhausted.

Coming out of the general gave me the shakes, which was fun. No nausea though.

falling aslseep...more late.r

The drug is much better when you're not in pain. Trust me.

Push the call button every 5 min till they put you out of their misery and give you something better for the pain. Or if already out of hospital call the Dr. and let him know the Lortab is intensifying the pain, giving you a head ache as well as throwing up. It works most of the time.
The throwing up will work because they don't want you to bust any internal stitches.

Jody - they get you out of there pretty damn quickly after the operation. Or at least it seemed like it; 45 minutes flew by like it was 2 seconds, I kid you not, right after I woke up.

Anyway, I guess I'm having that urine retention bit following a general; 9 hours or so, I feel like I have to go, but nothing comes out. A very unusual problem to have. I'll give it a few more hours before I start to worry; hoping the solution doesn't involve the term "catheter".
