Ran great today, put about 3 running hours on it in half a day at the lake and the gas needle barely moved.
Oh geez wait a friggin minute! I though Q was pulling that dude's leg; now I am confused. I need to review the whole thread and prepare to tar and feather Q. In the mean time if you can fill me in on the set up so I can understand its principle in the hope of debunking it of course...maybe replicate it since I am playing with all sorts of set ups here

Well, hate to say it, but I'm not allowed to go into a lot of detail about anything other than the water supply that I did myself. I got a discount from Q under the agreement that I'd give results (positive ones, he didn't want to hear it if it blew my engine), but not technical details.

Expect men in black coming down ropes from black helicopters near your dock

I'm having some difficulty believing that Moderators (or their progeny) can swim.

Otherwise, this thread ROCKS!

I have an old 300D hit or miss diesel in my boat. Since the 2nd and 3rd cylinder compression shit the bed, I just feed them two with raw water from the shower sump.

Runs a buttload cooler, seems quieter and I think it smokes less, too.....

Put out about three-fifths power now.

Cheers.

Tried to take some pics with my camera phone today, but they came out too grainy. My dad took us to the lake from about the time we could stand up, and I've furthered that with my sons. Only the oldest can ski well, though, but I'm working on the others. Nearly killed him on the tube today, launched him about 10 feet into the air. He'll sleep well.

Your setup sounds pretty cool, as well. Is there still ample power to get off the line?

And, drew, I expect to begin experimenting with water temperature this summer to see if I can squeeze a little more efficiency and power out of the engine. When I said I didn't fill up all summer, it was, perhaps, misleading, since it has a 35 gallon tank. I did have to put in 25 gallons today ($125 bucks) to fill up from last summer, so it isn't free. Still, with the improvement, I do expect to break even for the unit and my mods towards the end of this season. The gas needle really didn't move today.

I was at the track yesterday doing some stress testing on the system, using a couple of Legends cars running 600cc motorcycle engines as tests. Completely disconnected the water pump and removed the radiator; just filled the block with water. The temp gauge never went above 200, and the cars we tested with gained .2 seconds a lap after the modification.

The $45 or so on the docs and scanner is money well spent.

^ Not sure how many circuit boards you've ever built; might not be a bad idea to take advantage of the ones that come with our OEM kit.
