If a German member wouldn't mind helping me out...

I'm writing a research paper for a particularly smoking hot professor. The subject is partition of states. For one of my case studies I've chosen the two Germanies. I've got over 15 hours in this one case study, and am pretty sure of myself, but then again I started with no prior knowledge on the subject. It would be nice not to look foolish in case I try to hit her up after the class is over. I was hoping that a German member of the forum could possibly do me a solid and give it a quick look over. I'd definitely be forever grateful, and would owe you a beer should we ever cross paths. It's just around 2000 words so it's a quick read.

Post in here. May not get the kind of comments and corrections that will get you laid, but at least your spelling and grammar will be corrected.

Spelling and grammar isn't so much what I'm looking for. I want to make sure I've got the gist of concepts like ostalgia and other societal implications of reunification.

The file is too big to upload, but here's a link to it.

I was going to read your paper, but your first sentence
`For forty four years the partition imposed upon Germany was, given the circumstances, a resounding success``
made me almost sick...Where have you been...

I'll have a look, but it might take a few days to get back to you.
After the initial re unification euphoria, many former West Germans have seen their retirement benefits and many other social programs cut.
There even have been some with; 'They should have build the bloody wall ten feet higher.'
To bring the neglected infrastructure, cleanup of dumping sites, lakes, rivers etc. up to par with the Western part cost trillions of Euro.
Another point of contention was the different work ethic.
With Communism, an often heard joke was: 'The Government pretends to pay us, and we pretend to work.'
A good source of info is 'Der Spiegel' online, English version.
German Governments from the right to the left have unsuccessfully tried to muzzle this German weekly.
Cheers

Sweet! Thanks Teutone, this is exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for. I'm ecstatic about getting some input from people who know what they're talking about. I really appreciate it man.

My response to that would entail 2,371 words. Ironically, they're exactly the same as the words you didn't read.
