You'd sell your country down the fucking river for a tank of gas just like Bush and Cheney did, you traitorous fuck, that's the way I look at it. If you can afford an outrageous tax, I'm all for you having a nice drive. If you can't thats one more smoking Suburban off the fucking road.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

I'm positive both my SUV's exceed minimum pollution requirements as defined by what is known as 'California Emissions Standards'. How about your 83 280SL? I highly doubt it.

Well, I would say "gas conservatives" but someone said that about liberals once and I thought that was unfair.

I think all cars that are more than 15 years old, that obviously do not comply with today's pollution standards should have a $3,000 pollution tax attached to their tag renewal fees. That way, they'll either be encouraged to park their 83 280SL's or pay out the fucking nose to have a nice drive. What say you? Sound fair?

1. It's called profits and local jobs, nothing wrong with that. Notice I said some parts of the US, you know like historic areas or are you the kind of person who would stick a McDonald's on top of Mount Rushmore?
2. Nope, if you bought a bus for business then you should be exempt but if you bought to pimp it out and ride it by yourself to go back and from an office job then you need to be taxed. It's simple, you can still do it if you can afford it.
3. Dude I have a garden that's probably bigger that your whole house. I produce more vegetables than I can eat while the rest is distributed among my neighbors and the poor. As to my trash, I keep most of it as I produce my own methane
4. It's start with I, it's called responsibility and leadership. All of my neighbors now have gardens rather than lawns after I started the trend. We all plan to send our produce to the Farmers Market on 33rd Street this summer. Is that too hippie like for you? Maybe I should keep on buying some of that frozen crap from Walmart to make you happy?

1. They do. The tax is a % per gallon so they pay more taxes when they use more.
2. Ahaaaa, you want some free stuf. Should we pay the brasilians for the oxigen their forests are making? Should I get payed for having 20 trees on my property? From YOUR pocket if you live in an apartment? How far do we thake this SOCIALISM?

But is not MY country or yours.
There is no ownership with countries.
No more kingdoms.
You want to play king and tell others what to do?

1. vans are not truck, I owned both and I should know. As to gas mileage you buy what you can afford to fill up.
2. No it's not a pocket right, a truck is a utility vehicle, that's why it's a truck. How about I take the wings off of my Cessna and drive on the road? I am sure you would be pleased to be stuck behind me
3. The money should go to mass transit investments
4. Again, multiply as you want it's your money and we're going to need your kids for future wars anyway.

Do you know that building a NEW car pollutes more then driving an old car for 10 years?
It is a major scam with new cars and environment protection.
If you want to protect the environment use what you have as long as possible for the need you have and then recycle, reuse and repair.
