Let's not carry it too far, though. There is an underlying bent of racism across this country, and it would be foolish to not expect that fact to rear its ugly head in more ways than one during this election. I see no problem with addressing race issues in regard to the candidates and the effect these will have on the outcome. That's not the same as the blatant racism we see forwarded by a couple of posters here, of which Jay is not one. Jay has plenty of legitimate cause to oppose Obama. If race is even among them, I'm sure it's a minor consideration. It seems to me that by including Jay and others in this blanket condemnation, the legitimate position opposing racist attacks directed at Obama is actually weakened substantially.
I would like to agree with this, but can't. Jaybaugh has the opportunity to make a specific case against the agenda Obama has put forth, and elects not to, for the most part. For the most part all he does is echo the same tired crap about his Reverend, his wife, his missing lapel pin, his name, his upbringing, and other basically unsupported and anti Obama opinions that have never been connected to an Obama policy or agenda item. In fact, he claims one of the problems is the Obama agenda is "missing."
For the most part Jaybaugh does a much better job of covering up his racist motives, if that is what they are, on most topics here, but on the subject of Obama, he dabbles in the shady light of innuendo and playing on other people's bias or prejudice against Black Americans. I see very little more than a periodic squirt of some flammable racist rumors to keep the fire burning. I mean, where is the beef? Where is his dissertation on Obama's platform? Has he read the information on Obama's site and critiqued it?
His motives may not necessarily be racist, but his tactics are. Jim
.....because I'm at a loss to who has ever been 'qualified' to be president.
.....on the second go 'round of course....

And therein lies the difference. Obama is a Democrat, and to a partisan zealot like Jayhawk, that's enough. He has and will use any tactic available to discredit, including racist innuendo, but that must be expected and endured. It is not the same as the racist attacks of others, and a blurring of the line between those things is exactly what Obama opponents hope to achieve in order to vilify those supporters who are defending him and/or decrying racism.
Why didn't Hillary dig all this shit up when she had the chance?. We need this tape out now, not in October. The fuse to the stick of dynamite on Obama's back has been lit:
Lasst update: Latest info and new thread.
Update 5: My friend MacRanger gets an email from a trusted source that makes him believe the tape does exist. His emailer says it’s being held until Hillary officially drops out.
Update 4: June 3rd, 2008: Bob Beckel says a big shoe, involving Michelle, will drop tomorrow.
New and dramatic developments. This is a heads up. I’ll post the news Monday morning by 0900 hours. Now I know why people who have seen the videotape say it is stunning. Barack’s headaches are only starting.
I waited. 0900 passed. I even gave the benefit of the doubt and assumed 0900 PDT. It passed. Then I decided to wait until 0900 Hawaii time. It is now 0909 HDT. Aloha.
At this point NOTHING on this BS of a story has had any level of truth or credibility to it.
OK, technically it is ONLY 8:10 in Pago Pago, American Samoa.
Since Destroyer (how catchy, the chicks must dig that handle) has his head too far up his ass for his glasses to fit, I'll help out a bit. This took all of about 15 seconds on Google.
Here's how this whole forum thing works.
1) Try to disprove your own beliefs using Google (like news.google.com for example).
2) Based on the results of your findings, you know that either A) You have a valid point, or B) you should STFU before you embarrass yourself further.
3) Make an argument based on either your beliefs, or facts.
3a) If arguing on your beliefs, prepare to have them assailed.
3b) If arguing on facts, prepare to produce them quickly if you wish to improve your credibility (maybe even before you're asked).
4) Do not wear thin skin. Do not take an argument against as a threat; do not make overt or direct physical threats.
5) Let the games begin.
Still no sign of that rumored video of Michelle Obama saying bad stuff about white people. Reason magazine suggests that might be because a guy named Larry Johnson has been going around slangin' lies about a video he's never seen. The magazine's blog claims Johnson sits at the epicenter of the Michelle Obama video frenzy as the "blogger who's done the most to make the rumors public," and goes on to document the ways in which Johnson has changed his story about the purported video. When confronted with the inconsistencies and deemed a liar by the libertarian publication, Johnson advised Reason writer David Wiegel to "fuck off."
It's noteworthy that Johnson, a former counterterrorism official at the State Department, would be at the center of this both because of his support for Hillary Clinton and his distinct knack for getting things wrong. Real wrong. Check out his New York Times op-ed about the "the declining terrorist threat" written two months before the 9/11 attacks. ("Americans have little to fear.") Johnson still stands by that piece, and shows no signs of letting up with the Michelle Obama rumors, alleging last night that "my sources have not backed off" and that the Democratic nominee was in a "state of denial" about the video. Seems like someone might be asking for a "fuck off" of his very own.
Follow the linqqys at this page, and see for yourself what a crock of bullshit this is, and what a fucking douchebag dick suck one would be for not just believing it in the first place, but wantonly continuing to believe all of it.
National Review's Jim Geraghty finds the schedule of the Rainbow/PUSH event. First, the event was held at a Sheraton 14 miles away from Trinity United, yet Hillbuzz claims that Trinity United was selling a tape of this on the church web site. Second, Bill Clinton spoke at the conclusion of the conference, days after this event, yet Hillbuzz theorized that Obama was raging against Clinton. Third, Obama wasn't a featured speaker at the event: Rev. Jesse Jackson was. Michelle Obama was, with freed POW Shoshanna Johnson, a "special guest." There was no panel. It seems strange that the state senator's wife would give a 30-minute speech during a 2-hour luncheon at which she wasn't even the speaker. Later in the day, Johnson whines about the pro-Obama bloggers causing a "diversion."
I learned last week that Republicans have a tape of Michelle in a racist rant. She does so while part of a panel discussion. I do not know where this occurred.
That's my emphasis because two days earlier Johnson reported that Obama was sitting with Louis Farrakhan at Trinity United, and a week before that Johnson was already reporting that Obama's rant was at Trinity United. Johnson starts walking back the story by sputtering that "with or without said tape, we do know that the Obamas participated for almost 20 years in a church that espoused racism." But "without said tape," there's no story. Let's rewind it back. Johnson, on June 2:
It features Michelle Obama and Louis Farrakhan. They are sitting on a panel at Jeremiah Wright’s Church.
Johnson, two days later.
I do not know where this occurred.
In his peddling of this story, Johnson has altered his description of what was in the tape. I e-mailed Johnson, asked about the holes in the HillBuzz story, and called him a liar. He e-mailed me back.
You and Reason in the same sentence? Now that's funny. I don't recall soliciting an email from you so fuck off.
Until he comes out with a video tape that shows at least one of the many rumored "Michelle speeches," I think that's the last we need to hear from Larry Johnson.

Aren't you supposed to be moving or something?
Avoiding the 96 degree 75% humidity thingie for a while. Worked from 7am til noon and will start again in about an hour til midnight if ankle holds out.
Something about carrying 250 20# boxes up and down steps that just doesn't like the heat any more. I have the movers coming for the heavy stuff Wednesday but I could not get a schedule for everything until July.
