I love the fucking thing. It is the real machine for the times, a very comfortable high-performance scooter, with plenty of storage space under the seat, the frigging thing is like a car trunk. It is responsive and zippy fast on the city streets. Get one!
Hey I checked out the Kymco site.

What's the real price for one of those?

Out the door price for a new KYMCO 200 I looked at yesterday was 3200 after doing my best to break whatever balls I could on the deal. I was going to buy it for the GF but she's out of luck now that I bought the big Honda. Maybe next month. I paid 4 grand for 250, tax included, a year ago. Half of Asia is riding on them babies. I would bet the 200 is even better on gas and probably tops out at 70-80.

I think this gas thing is sad and funny at the same time. The effects its having on low income people. This is a trip. Low income people can't afford a really nice hybrid, or a 08 Camry or something like that. So they buy whats available, such as gas guzzling Cadi's in poor conditions for under $3,000. Heres whats funny.

In order for a car to run in its prime it must be maintained vigorously. It would cost thousands to get that Cadi to run optimal and get the normal but low MPG it was rated to do.

So in all reality in my opinion its not the cost of gas thats a factor, its the cost of operating a vehicle these days that older then 4 years, or any vehicle over 60,000 miles on the clock. Poor maintenance is worst then equates to poor mpg on fill ups and higher repair cost.

I would be concerned with the number of poorly maintained cars out there, which people are opting to by gas at faster rates then are willing to do things such as fuel pumps, rings, seals, plugs, hoses, brakes, proper tire pressure and size and load factor.

I love scooters, I rode one in Italy when we would roam around to pick up (I mean pick on) chicks and naive foreign tourists.

What do scooters and fat dates have in common? They are both great to ride until someone see's you on them.

No, No,....LOL.....(no offense Shane if you reading this)

I used Caddy's as an example. Come on, lets be honest how many times have you seen Volvo's, Caddy's, Lincolns, BMW's, Mercedes in such poor condition that they end up burning more gas then it was intended to, and then there is the repair cost which is also placing people in financial hardship. My comment wasn't meant to offend any body, because I was and at any given moment am one of those people who can't afford a nice hybrid or a car that gets 45 miles to the gallon. I remember not being able to afford repairs on two of my old cars. It ended up costing me more money because I was burning more gas and because I was paying more for gas I couldn't afford the repairs. Am I the only one who sees this as being funny.

I don't think the problem ends with me, I can only imagine what the actual numbers equate to if ran in regards to poorly maintained cars and gas consumption. What % of gas consumed is do to poor cars on the road verses regular use of said vehicle.

And lets be honest about something else, if most people could afford a nice hybrid don't you think they would have purchased one already or at least purchased a car that got better MPG then just 15 city 18 hwy?

This reminds me of my mailman. He always had the hots for my 560 ( and maybe my wife who knows, they all friggin do) anyway, one day he asked me if I could take him on a test ride and I obliged. As soon as I took off and the kickdown engaged I could tell that the dude had a hard on (no, I didn't look but his face had a priceless expression). After we "landed" back he offered me $5,000 for my OLD almost 20 year old car with 300K miles. My wife refused because she's in love with the car (I wonder why?) and then I also thought about how a poor mailman would end up buying a car that works great for now but would not know how to maintain it and will end up buttfuked by our local dealers and independent thieves. I am sure he would be the envy of his hood until one morning he wakes up and finds the car on cinder blocks and a gutted interior. The one thing he will find right away will the hood star that will be around his neighbor's kid neck.
I think he will better off without it, what do you think?
