I think the Democrats will enjoy that the adults are finally taking a stand. Rules are rules and need to be fully complied with. What does not need to be factored in is the convenience of the candidates. They are not relevant to the discussion.

EVERY State Committee and EVERY Democratic candidate signed off on ONE set of rules. Every State Committee and every Democratic candidate knew what the penalties were if rules were broken. Everyone even got a warning shot when Michigan and Florida first scheduled their primaries early. Every candidate signed off AGAIN regarding both the rules and the warning to the two states.

Either there is a party of rules or there is not. There is not a middle ground. If there is a consideration for Michigan and Florida it sets off a run of dominoes for every future election that broken rules can be fixed to buy votes later.

Right now Florida is trying to hold the Democratic Party hostage by saying that they will lose if Florida does not get seated 100%. Florida needs to grow up.

I really really really don't want to divert a thread, but the suggestion of enforcing rules (ie - immigration laws) is sometimes scoffed at in this forum . . .

very true. There is, however a difference between parliamentary rules of a private organization and laws that have been ignored by the entire country for 25% of the country's existence providing a very strong case for tacit approval of them at every level.

Having said that, it would be a travesty for the Dem's to seat delegates from those states, but it would not be a surprise.

I figure in the spirit of harmony they will compromise and either seat them 50/50 or have each delegates vote count 50%, proportional to the election.

Under ALL math, no matter the calculus, Obama still ends up with more delegates. There is ZERO mathematical way for Hillary to come out on top, with any factoring so really, the posturing by Hillary's camp is fruitless.

Her only option for success really is the Sirhan Sirhan option. And should that occur, I believe the floor fight at the convention would move to a White Knight solution.

Stranger things have happened. Haven't checked the math, but, hypothetically, were Bill and Monica to "do" all the superdelegates (all of them) and secure their allegiance, would Hillary have the numbers?

OK, that would be another option. And yes, given that they can change their mind at any time, they would be open to oral arguments up until the convention.
