Well, I got exactly the response i expected from each of you who posted and i understand many of you are not connected to the world above and would rather take a negative stance

If it happened in any other country I would feel just as sad for the people but when it happens on your own doorstep it brings home the horror of such a situation.

To each their own way and thank you for your replies The fact that you replied means you showed some kind of thought about this situation.

ERIC.

You're a very laid back dude, my friend. I'm sure everyone in the world who has heard of these tragedies wishes the victims and their families all the best.

The other night I was out training and happened upon a person lying moaning on the sidewalk. There was no one else around at that hour, but it could easily have been a trap with plenty of places for villains to hide and jump me. However, my conscience told me to help her, so I put my jacket under head (which she was banging on the sidewalk due to the agony in her chest) and called the ambulance service. I waited with her and then had to run after the ambulance which drove right past because the dispatcher had apparently given imprecise directions. In her semi-conscious state she could have wriggled into the road and been run down by a bus, or she could have swallowed her tongue or choked on vomit and died.
I think my assistance was probably a bit more useful to her than a quick prayer, and I didn't require Jesus to teach me to help people in need.

So she was not up for a bit of the Dope "Magic", she was laid out on her back and all, I'm just saying...........

True but the Chinese govt. has already done what it could, they have waived this law for couples who's child did not survive.

Each day in the english paper here in shenzhen we get storie of heroism and tradegy.

Today was an especially sad case of an 18 year old girl who had to have both her legs amputated below the knees to free her from the rubble. Now doctors are saying the may have to amputate more from one leg.

They went on to say she was in a deep state of depression, hardly suprising is it not.

To my calculations if we could have a earth quake like that every week for about three years we should be getting back to a sustainable population for this planet, that would be my pray to Al Pacino, But there is a way you could all help save this planet.
