I hear a tone of sarcasam in your voice. To clarify I do not believe that Iraq is a vacation spot for anyone but I am pretty sure you understood the meaning. Safe for Joe blow to walk down the street with his american wife and children and not have to worry. And, I never said I was in Iraq, but thats another story too.

No sarcasm, because that's what they told the White House or more precisely The Decider.

I think GW was pressured by England as much as by family pride. Using Saddam as a scapegoat, We invaded Iraq to give England a little help in Europe/Middle east. If we can establish a stronghold in Iraq we can begin to westernize the middle east. Michael Jackson the Beatles, Christianity, Mc Donald's the works. Iraq is spitting distance from the people we need to watch the most, Keep you friends close and your enemies closer. This includes France. With our record over the last 12 years of firing missiles or sending troops to every country that throws a fucking rock at us, we are now the ill tempered older brother coming home from college and wants his room back. by having our room in Iraq we have the balcony view of the backyard and the long arms to swat the flies that annoy us. Part of September 11th was they came here... on American soil and Attacked Innocent civilians that had nothing to do with our governments policies. Every President from now to the end of eternity will do everything they can to see that that does not happen again. And so far it has worked. They do not attack us here because we are already in their backyard. Mission Accomplished ( sorry could not resist) If we have a base or a post or a fucking tent with an American flag on it that will be the symbol of America they strike out at. Similar to England and the terrorist attacks they have to deal with. Tony Blair saw the same thing, If they are over here, we won't seem as bad. Yes GW of course there are WMD I have seen them myself.

To review:
Knock off Saddam for sept 11th (the scapegoat) but still an asshole
Replace with friendly government
Kill some terrorist while we are there/WMD
Set up a strong hold to westernize the middle east making it less hostile to the U.S. /England
Keep on eye on our enemies Including France setting up better intelligence for early warning on attacks against us
Having an Arab country as a military Allie
Potential oil perks when the economy of the country collapse's and we prop it up in exchange for oil.

My eyes are hurting Im not sure I put it all in there but lets fire away anyway.
