I am trying to understand all that but it's not telling me why we went to Iraq other than personal vendetta that we had to send our soldiers to bid on it. How in the hell is that good? I don't know but I have a feeling that soldier boy here will tell us the real deep and profound reason we went there. Maybe Bot will step in or Boo, how about Boo? Has his Mossad check bounced? Is that why he's no longer here?

The lesson of Vietnam and now Iraq is that we should shorten our convenient reach and only get involved in disputes that directly affect our security. In those cases you do anything, including using nukes, to protect our national security.

There are some humanitarian exceptions, but they need to be the purview of the UN, not the US. Jim

So what is this stronghold and what was it for? I am clueless when it comes to these "military" things you know
or is it political, no maybe it's religious?

I think our Government is playing a big game of "Risk" right now in trying to establish a legacy. If 20 years from now Iraq is the new Greece for vacationers this admin. will be the reason. From a Military standpoint Iraq is a Great home plate. All the fuel you need to drive wherever the hell you want. With our allies in Israel, england, Spain,Germany, and lets not forget France we can really reach out and touch someone.

STAND DOWN THE FIGHTING IS OVER! WE ARE CONDUCTING OURSELVES LIKE SCHOLARS TONIGHT. IF ALL YOU ARE GOING TO DO IS INSULT AND MAKE YOURSELF LOOK STUPID RESIST THE URGE AND LISTEN FOR A WHILE.

Oh wow, you're making so much sense. You should apply as a strategist for one of them think tanks on L and K streets in DC; they think just like you

Iraq = Greece and you have been in Iraq? ehem I have been in both but that's another story and it does not make me an expert on how feasible this cultural and sociological shift will happen. I just hope that my Greek friends in here are not rolling on the floor right now
