I was watching the CNN Headline news this morning and they were reporting on the damaging tornados over the past four days. The seemingly winded and inexperienced weather reporter quipped, "Whew. Is this a record tornado season or not? It has to be the most active season on record, due to the warming climate, blah, blah, blah."
In which one of the co-anchors replied, "Actually it's not. Not even close. We've witnessed 162 tornados in the last four days BUT there were 148 confirmed tornados in a 24 hour period beginning April 3, 1974."
I must admit that I was laughing my ass off at that one.
