Right, I should only visit the sites that tell the truth. All others should be blocked so as not to pollute the mind.

Totally with you. Let's all submit to some sky-being who will love us if we only read his book. All that freedom crap is way over-rated.

You have access to all site, why limit your mind to one type only? The sites you refer us to have ridiculous lie. Big, fat ridiculous lies that they pass to the reader who is not familiar with Islam as facts.

Abu Bakr was Ethiopian! How funny. And I haven't yet read past paragraph 1.

You can tell but others will buy it all as facts. If a writer can lie so bluntly about indisputable history, I expect him to write whatever he wishes and still get away with it.

if one hasn't free access to information, how does one know what is truth?

Tell me about indisputable history.

I have never encountered that concept.

Botnst,

I really don't want to argue with you. If you insist on getting all your information on Islam from liar sources be it. If you want to keep making fun of my limited access to particular internet sites while you willfully limit your own access, go ahead.

An indisputable history bit: Abu Bakr was an Arab. Never heard anybody claim otherwise.

If you're looking to tourism to save your economy, its time for a fairly radical image overhaul, and it better start now in order to give it time to work. Yes, I realize there is some variation between ME states in terms of religion, politics and what is restricted. But at the end of the day, most North Americans, Europeans, Australians, Japanese (not to mention Chinese - an emerging tourist culture with money) are going to find even the most permissive of ME states to be far to restrictive in terms of what can and cannot be done. Too many excesses we associate with being on vacation are haram for you.

You're right. Save Saudi Arabia, who has its share of religious tourism, more Arab Gulf cities are being promoted as attractive, modern tourist destinations. Dubai is among the most successful and it's getting more and more popular among tourists from India and Europe (especially the former Soviet Union) among others.
Abu Dhabi is trying to build a cultural tourism to its name while taking hints from Dubai's success story. Maybe tourists from the Americas are less targeted because of the distance factor. Contrary to what you'd expect, many haram activities are allowed. A tourist should only worry about being caught with drugs/narcotics.

Using the word, "indisputable" doesn't give you pause? There is no discussion possible if you believe that an account of history is indisputable.
