Rush Limbaugh is now supporting Obama to be the Democratic nominee...wait, what?

"I now believe he would be the weakest of the Democrat nominees," Limbaugh, among the most powerful voices in conservative radio, said on his program. "I now urge the Democrat superdelegates to make your mind up and publicly go for Obama."

"Barack Obama has shown he cannot get the votes Democrats need to win -- blue-collar, working-class people," Limbaugh said. "He can get effete snobs, he can get wealthy academics, he can get the young, and he can get the black vote, but Democrats do not win with that."

Ah, the capricious ramblings of the Voice of the Mighty28.

I remember when he thought "power ties" were important also.

You folks are whistling in the graveyard. There are millions of ardent Limbaugh followers and under the right circumstances he can mobilize them. I'll bet his followers are more impassioned and likely to follow-through than any of Al Gore's or Howard Deans or John McCain's. This is why so-called conservative politicians like Mr McCain dread dealing with him.

His (Limbaugh's) only stakes in the outcome are financial and ego-centric (hmmm, not unlike elected politicians). If he can get the Democrat Party world abuzz about anything he says, he will pump it to intergalactic importance on his show, creating great excitement, more call-ins, and more listeners -- money in his bank. the worst possible thing for Limbaugh would be for the Democrats to pay him no mind. But they are drawn to him like nocturnal insects to a bug zapper.

The biggest problems we are facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all and thatís what I intend to reverse.

Yeah, he can mobilize them. But to what end. They have done as much damage as they can in crossover voting and all it has done is show the superdelegates that Hillary would not be as strong with out the shenanigan vote. After the primaries, any Rush listener is going to vote NeoCon anyway, either not vote or for McCain, depending on if they vote their principles or against the Democrat.

That person was never a Democrat voter in the first place so any amount of mobilization is irrelevant to Democrat numbers.

That's a theory, too.

Rush can't lose, either way. If he keeps the pot a-bubble, he gets increased revenue. Right now it's bubbling like something out of MacBeth.

The only way Rush loses is through irrelevancy, but the constant anti-Rush rhetoric keeps (hot) air in his sails.
