I didn't start driving alone and some what legal until 1985 so wtf (an '80 Turbo Trans Am and a '77 Vette of all things)? In the early 80's though I was driving a '73 Ford Ranger XLT with most all options down from Paw Paw's ranch north of Abilene, Texas to the nearest grocery store in Lueders, Texas. It was around 5 miles and all dirt road except for the last mile. You should've seen the looks on the faces of the people at the store when they saw HP Harvey's truck pull up and a 12 year old jump out. Funny. No one dared say a word though. A week later I pulled up to the same store in my mom's new Cadillac Seville with astroroof and genuine wire wheels. That got me some questions.

Semantics my dear boy, merely semantics. Actually I drove a couple new Chemo Saabees recently and came away impressed. They are no longer the rough riding for no reason rattle boxes they were when I first drove them back in the early nineties. They are quite compelling for a front drive car.
