More news that dodges the predominant paradigm on OT, jayhawk.

Better get with the program or you'll be a Nazi.

The biggest problems we are facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all and thatís what I intend to reverse.

Dead cat bounce on a glimmer of good news. Market will be in the toilet by Monday.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

-President Barack Obama, 1st Inaugural address

You and Jayhawk deserve each other, Adolf.

Your initial post did not talk about trend lines.

A trend line is meaningless without associating a timeframe with it.
So what are we talking about .. a 15 min trendline, 100 yr ??

Get your dates right. The Dems have been in charge since January 20 2007. And they have change the budget to where this year, earmarks are down 45%, require names attached to the earmark instead of being buried AND put Bushie's toes to the fire and made him alter his budget for both Iraq and Dept of Holy Shit spending so the Budget Deficits will be smaller.

So, yeppers, contrary to the smokescreen Rush & Co keep trying to put up that nothing has been done, that amazing Checks and Balances is working as designed.

I would imagine, considering the thin margins they have on the Senate side they are just waiting on the next election cycle to get things rolling. You can only do so much when the President finally finds his veto pen. What a shame he couldn't find it when the Republican Congress pissed away the National Treasury for six years.

Actually pretty predictable from the chart. Seems the Pound vs Dollar turns against the dollar during Republican Administrations in a more acute manner than Democrat.

1976 might be the exception as Britain was in the midst of a worse stagflation than we were [ours started in 1973-4 and went to 1979-80]
