Actually $9.2 of the $10 Trillion National Debt projected by the end of 2008 all belong to Reagan, Bush1 and Bush 1.1. So really, the debt has only grown monstrously under The Trickledown Three.
Reagan and did it without Congress' involvement? How extra-constitutional of him! Same with Bushes. I'll just bet if we took a little stroll down memory lane we would find plenty of evidence of party collusion. Wanna bet?

Employers cut far fewer jobs in April than in recent months and the unemployment rate dropped to 5 percent, a better-than-expected showing that still revealed strains in the nation's labor market.

Jay's partisan politics view of the economy versus my parent's friends who are all, and I repeat all, scaling back their lifestyle out of necessity. They are all bonafide, smack dab, middle class. Some do not turn their A/C on as much or as low. Other's cut back on lawn watering. No trips, no parties, no new cars, etc. Many of them are still massive Republican backers since Dallas is the #1 conservative city in the USA. I guess this is what always happens when you are out of touch.
The recession has just now started to bitch slap Texas. Real estate is dead, new car sales are dead, classic car sales are hurt. Texas was held up by NAFTA but even it cannot counter the tide alone.
