I like you feel free and think it is ok to throw around the term "whitey". What if others on this board started to throw around the N word. Would you be ok with that?
You know that every politician has hundreds of reporters looking at them from every angle. They are all looking to make a name for themselves and break a big story.
I have never heard anyone say they are not going to vote for Obama because of not wearing a lapel pin or what his wife has said. What people have been saying is that these are two more items to take into account in judging the man against the other candidates.
You are the one that wants to make everything racial. You are starting to look more and more like Cartman when he does not get his way "screw you guys I'm taking my toys and going home".
You know sometimes a turd is just a turd and statements are just a statment and having nothing to do with race. Despite what you apparently want to believe.
Yeah. And, on the other hand, when a guy tells you he isn't in a Vulcan mind-meld with his preacher, maybe it is just as simple as that? But, many feel free to suppose they know what goes on in the man's mind, and to suggest they "know" he is lying about it.
The term "whitey" is far from the "N" word in its implications or it impact, unless of course one wishes to pump it up with politically correct thinking that suggests we shouldn't be naming athletic teams after American Indians using words like "The Braves." Not my world. I actually don't find
whitey offensive at all - it is more of a sarcastic reference to white people taking offense to the situation than anything else, because it has no other impact without that political correctness air pump swelling it.
Like I said, Obama is not Wright, Wright is not Obama, and I see no valid connection from however anyone justifies condemning Wright's message without parsing it into lines of logic and finding faults in those lines, and then attributing their essentially unjustified negative or in some cases extremely negative assessment of Wright directly to Obama. The only way that is easy is if none of the details makes any difference - it is the color of the skin of the two men, so the same evil sounding shit must lurk beneath that dark skin. And I think there is more to that logic than the lapel pin and wife's quote being "just another data point" to pile on.
Others have said it - Obama is a liberal Democrat. They are not going to vote for a liberal Democrat. Nothing racist about that. Clear, you just don't go for his policies. His wife is not part of the picture and neither is his naked lapel. Or his Reverend. Debate the policies and steer clear of the swiftboating bullshit because it is always going to smell like the white man trying to butt fuck the black man and then claim he didn't do it.
You got me. I am Cartman. And, if you want to play Swiftboating the Black man, I am going to point it out. Loudly and irritatingly. Don't vote for him, be against him, discuss how you don't like his policies and vision.
I think I may come down with Tourette's Syndrome in response to this Swiftboating the Black dude approach to political discourse. Yeah, that's the ticket. Jim
