^^^^Maybe you can outrun the DPS Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, with that thing, but you can't outrun Bell, Motorola or Fido..........

No the Shop is in Upstate NY (hey its only a few hours away) however the caddy came out of NV.

And you are not a fish out of water when it comes to theses cars the same rules are there just as they are for the Caddys you been playing with however the $$ is just on a different level and unlike the newer caddys a rusted one of these still grabs decent bucks because of what a fully restored one will bring and the rate of increase in value by far beats the hell out of almost anything.

The one in this post could fetch (depending on the level of restoration that is) something in the area of mid 90s to 120s now....or don't even restore it just put it away.......and collect more parts for it and the investment will rock in 5 years.

Too much plastic, poor leather, weird padding in the seats [and I know the original owner who is small] and little pieces/parts that break at the drop of a hat. The 2000 S has been a bit of a disappointment in the quality of manufacture, choice of materials and durability.

Want to bet? I have video proof. No I will not post it, allthough it did get out there a few years ago but has since been retrieved.

Are you talking about old Cadillacs from the mid 70's up? I could have sworn you were. If it weren't for broken and brittle plastic the cars would be far, far, easier to keep show like and moving.

I personally think the big Cadillacs were at their apogee from 1967 through 1970.

Things started to decline in 1971 with the advent of the low compression engines and smog impedimentia on them (California cars being the worst) but I liked the 1971-1973 restyle a lot, especially on the 2 and 4 door de Villes.

But by 1974 they were strangling on their emissions equipment, got about 6 mpg in their worst iteration, and had no power, were huge and whale like, and ugly, (even the TALISMAN editions.)

The 1977-1979 coupe de villes were a temporary step in the right direction, as were the 1992-1996 Broughams with the detuned Vette 350 engines but everything else on offer was crap.

Pure crap

cascade digs Cadillacs

What I would really like is a red '70 de ville convertible of my own. The last of the RWD ones.

Even a black one, even a '69.

Like the one that goes into San Francisco Bay in the O'Neill/Streisand movie "Whats Up Doc" car chase.
