The Real Obama Shows Up In San Francisco

If you go to the most expensive private school in Hawaii and then move on to Colombia University and Harvard Law School, you may not understand normal Americans -- that's the impression created by Senator Barack Obama's recent comments.

For Obama, it seems, the beliefs of normal Americans are so alien to his leftwing viewpoint that he has to seek some psychological explanation for what he thinks are weird ideas. They can't really believe in the right to bear arms. They can't really believe in traditional marriage. They can't really believe in their faith in God. They can't really want to enforce the law on immigration. And because ordinary Americans can't really believe these things, they must just be bitter and frustrated.

This is the closest Senator Obama has come to openly sharing his wife's view that "America is a mean country." Not since 1988 Democratic presidential nominee Mike Dukakis have we seen anyone so out of touch with normal Americans. It makes perfect sense that it was at a fundraiser in San Francisco that he would have shared the views he has so carefully kept hidden for the entire campaign.

I'm sure he's too much for you to handle.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

He's not interested in what Obama has to say, he's interested in what the right wing has currently twisted it into. These guys scream about our government and how it treats them, but when a candidate comes along that actually wants to talk to them like an adult, well, hell, they just can't handle it. Eight years of Bush has resulted in a culture of stupidity. Even the fact an educated man wants to become president scares them. I think what Obama said is right on the money. The average American has been screwed out of the American Dream, and is he ever pissed.

It’s going to be a long road for him to travel until November.
The man needs to stay with a script.

I’m not hip to any of the 3 “media” chosen ones, but the more he talks
The more I may pull the lever for McCain.

During eight years of Bushdom, we have gone into debt 9 trillion dollars after running surpluses and paying down the debt for years. We have watched what should have been our Social Security and Medicare trust funds flushed down a shithole called Iraq. We watched as lobbyists wrote the laws, resulting in the banks and the stock market going down the toilet pretty much the same way it did in 1929. Sure, vote for McCain. You'll get just what you deserve.

Agree with you Multi. I would think the higher taxes Mr. Obama is promising along with the curtailment of free trade will hurt everyone in the long run. Didn't Hoover do this exact thing and make matters worse?

I saved for my retirement.

I’m also better off now than 8 years ago.

You would pull the lever for Hitler if he was running, please even McCain is too liberal for you but I guess you have no choice and the threat of an educated black man is just making you sweat ugly when you wake up every morning.

Yes now wonder, you feel like the rest of America is not your problem since you're "safe". Hypocrisy at its best!
