Sorry to hear that.

They are such good friends and family, their loss can be difficult.

Enjoy the memories and when ready, get another dog.

Whilst my loss isn't due to death, I'm still mourning the absence of my former neighbor's kitty, due to my recent move. Gawd, I can't believe how much I love that cat. She provided me with so much inexplicable joy, just by her very presence. Bye kitty...

Sorry about losing your pal. I have had dogs most of my life, German Shepherd, Great Dane, Irish Setter, even a Saluki (don't care much for the little neurotic ones), and I still miss them all, especially my last dog, a Golden Retriever.

I am with all of the above thoughts
We however have a cunning plan
With 5 dogs they should not all die at once, we reason
Sounds ruthless, and was not actually the reasoning
( I work beside / in the same yard as the Dog Pound )
We will still grieve though.
Regards
M

Sorry to hear that. Ive had four dogs in my life and they too have gone. But each time, I swear i wont get another and after a few weeks I buy another. A family is not the same without a trusted pet.

Just like the CLKman I have a Sharpi and man what a great dog, with a character like no other dog.

Dont mourn too long and get another puppy, you will be glad you did.

ERIC.

My condolences. There is nothing as draining as putting your dog down. I have had to do it twice. I was horrified the first time and we didn't get another dog for 8 years. The last time was just under a year ago.

We had two dogs at the time, male and female, and the older dog, the male was diagnosed with un-treatable cancer. He was 8. They had a litter born February 8, 2007 and before we knew our male was sick we had raised the pups to 10 weeks and sold them all. We were lucky in that one of the families with a male puppy had to move and sold us the puppy back.

Take your time, but get a puppy. From someone who waited a long time the first time around, I recommend you do it sooner rather than later. Good luck, Jim

I always felt whatever created our Universe was not very fair in giving our trusty pets a so much shorter lifespan.
