The Grid

Is this for real? I can't even get my YouTube account to work.

The Grid to Render the Web Obsolete?

Techtree News Staff
Apr 7, 2008
The birthplace of the Web, Cern, which is based near Geneva, is now busy working on "the grid" that boasts speeds nearly 10,000 times faster than a typical Broadband connection, and that may soon render the Web obsolete.

The grid computing project was started around seven years ago by researchers at Cern. They claim "the grid" is so fast it is capable of sending the entire Rolling Stones back catalogue from Britain to Japan in less than two seconds.

Here's the rest... India > News > Internet > The Grid to Render the Web Obsolete?

Yeppers, prepare for the next big leap.

And once the wireless speeds are up, convergence will finally be a reality.

But don't get all giggity. It also means that those Big Brother databases that are too large and cumbersome to plow through now will be able to be linked and scanned ever so quickly. [if only there were an organization that was around to fight against that intrusion on privacy].

So, should you be applying for some form of insurance and check the little box that says NO to certain prescriptions simply because you used them 25 years ago, under today's rules that might provide a big SORRY or pre-existing condition or "lied on form".

Or that speeding ticket in Nevada that never made the Insurance company scan before because they didn't have time to plow through ALL states for ALL insured.
