I have never heard nor seen this one but maybe some of the computer savvy here have..

1. Take a screen shot of your target's computer. (Windows key + Print Screen)

2. Paste the screen shot into the Windows Paintbrush program, and save it as a jpg file.

3. Set this picture as the desktop wallpaper.

4. Close or Minimize ALL windows.

5. Grab the task bar at the bottom and move it to the top or the side. Also change the properties of it so that it auto hides.

6. Hide all desktop icons."

My kids did this years ago as a prank ... had me going for a minute!

I guess they use to do it to school computers until the IT figured out how to lock them out.

Before you do this to someone you want to make sure one of these error messages [or is that mistake messages?] in in the center of the screen.

I did one on our graphic designer's Mac. I took the pic, hid her dock, then flipped the screen upside down. She freaked.

Some of the easier April Fool's Day tricks involve putting a piece of scotch tape over the "laser" on an optical mouse, and coloring it in black with a sharpie. You can do the same thing to the receiver button on their phone. Write protect tabs from 5 1/4" floppies were great for that.

The REALLY advanced stuff involves using Apache as a transparent web proxy, and fuxoring every JPG that comes across. Yeah buddy.
