Fastest Car Under $30k?

Ok, here's my question. With a budget of around $25k to $30k, what is the fastest car, 2004 or newer, available? Aside from Mitsubishi Evo IX or Pontiac GTO...

I have seen a few '05 C55s in that range, but I wasn't sure if the ones that were below $30k would be priced such because they have problems... Is it reasonable to find a C55 AMG or a C32 AMG for less than $25-30k that would not have any serious problems?

Check out the WRX or WRX Sti. It will also be the fastest around corners and in bad weather.

Are you sure you really want the fastest? Wouldn't the quickest be more appropriate, and not to mention, fun?

If you want to push that '04 date back a year or two, a 6 speed Audi A6 2.7 twin-turbo with appropriate aftermarket ECM would fit right into the 'fast' bracket...

Assuming a good prior owner, of course...

Or, the same engine in the proper year Audi S4...

mid-high 5's 0-60 MPH & low 14's in the quarter with AWD handling

Well if you believe the commercial, the new Pontiac G8 GT is the fastest under $30k

Longtime members here all know that Audi ownership=narcissistic homosexual.

IF you were looking as far back as '02 or so, the AMG version of the SLK or CLK would deliver remarkable bang-for-buck.

Or, if you have a mullet, then stick with the Subie.
