Thomas Sowell is a brilliant and honest observer of the human condition and he clearly sees through Obambi's faux front. Your name-calling only serves to reinforce his insightful analysis.
We are getting the picture JayReilly. You want your "black" President to be a dark skinned, not too dark, mind you, purely white minded person. That way you still have an essentially "white" guy as President. For a while Obama was suspected by the Black American population at large to be just such a candidate.
I am still unable to "get" the outrage about Reverend Wright. I have known some Black Americans in my life who will tell you, from their perspective, they live in the United States of KKK America. And, I have to concede that the KKK is an American political group. They exist, they march in various cities across the country and they have a history of abusing Blacks and other minorities, and offer no new outlook.
There is nothing anti-American about acknowledging the KKK and its politics are infused in the general American culture. Especially if you want to get it out. I see how, if you want to keep it healthy and thriving, you might wish to keep its existence hidden from the national conscience. So, to protect the KKK and their politics of hate and violence against Blacks and minorities from exposure in a national debate, you try to create a new big Black boogeyman, Reverend Wright in this case, to scare Americans from supporting Obama.
The real issue is, do you think Black Americans with a Black experience based mindset are worthy Americans? Can one of them be President? How about one who has shown the ability to use his intellectual gift in a manner you would find "white" and therefore acceptable, but still maintains an intimate understanding with the Black American population that has the Black American experience based mindset? I know, I lost you at about the second or third sentence.
The whole "thin skinned White Americans being offended by Reverend Wright because of his diction" when speaking to people most of them won't get closer than a few miles to, much less speak to, is an orchestrated whine for media help put Obama back in his place. How dare an American with Black genetic material if not dark black skin retain his Black conscience and ties to his Black community and church pastor and then think he can run for President? Uppity motherfucker, eh?
You guys used to be the ones who objected to political correctness being used to stifle open discussions. Suddenly the distorted lens of political correctness seems to serve your purpose and you can't stop putting it in the way of America seeing Obama for what he is - a uniquely gifted leader with a vision of a more perfect union of Americans achieving goals important in our quest to remain the greatest nation on Earth.
Instead you want us to see him as the fearsome nigger you see when you look at him. Your irrational fear has consumed you - you can't even listen without imagining the big Black boogeyman is out to get you and Obama as President is going to empower him to find you and have his way with you. And your money.
Give it up BillHawk. Your outlook is holding America back and once the change happens you will be uneasy and fearful unless your outlook changes. Obama doesn't want to hold a grudge, not even against the likes of you. Jim
