Pull my finger.

The biggest problems we are facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all and that’s what I intend to reverse.

I suppose it's insignificant that we've only really been able to measure and observe this type of thing for, what, 30 years tops? Couldn't have happened before....

Bet ya $1,000 I can fill a glass with ice cubes & water, and when the ice cubes melt, the water level doesn't change.

Yeah, but notice the word, "SHELF". That is ice suspended above the point of buoyancy. Thus when (if) it melts or drops it's volume will be added to the ocean's volume. Not as though anybody anywhere would notice, mind you. However, if the thousands of cubic miles of ice on Greenland & Antarctica were to undergo catastrophic melt it would raise the sea level well, ... catastrophically.

Greenland is melting at an accelerating rate, faster than the alarmists predicted. However, Antarctica is a mixed message. Some portions appear to be melting and others are accumulating snow & ice.

Another factor to consider is thermal expansion with temp increase. As the melt water warms it expands. These two forces (temp change and thermal expansion) act on the remainder of the ocean resulting in mass flow of water -- ocean currents. Also, ice melt water is not salty. This will create yet another density/temp gradient with resultant mass flows.

Guess what forces drive weather systems?
