I agree, and can anyone tell me why diesel cost more than gas. When I was a teenager diesel was always cheaper and it stayed that way until the las few years, I don't understand why.

Yeah, I remember those days too, but since then the cost has increased enormously for a couple of reasons: one is that government regulations required additives to cut down on sulfur emissions which added to the cost at the refinery. Another is that the demand for diesel fuel almost exceeds the supply since there are so many more diesel-driven trucks on the road than there used to be. There is not presently a solution.

You are a commercial haulier right? So your usage is directly related to the revenue you generate and the costs are the same for your competitors. What's the problem?

not even close the industry hasnt changed in 50 years , rates are cut throat. brokers want to pay 1k to go 900 miles ok fuel is 4.05 on average right now so if your truck gets 5.2 mpg do the math , what will it take to go from a to b in fuel . ok kids heres the math 900 divided by 5.2 = 173.07 X $4.05 = $ 700.93 just in fuel so you tell me is the math sound right ???
