When I went to the Doc her first words were "Jeez, go straight to Xray". To her surprise it was not broken and none of the pins, screws or the plate were moved around.

The official diagnosis was that the XRay came back within "normal range". My first question was Normal for a, well, normal person or normal for a person who has had that foot rattlesnake bit, HALO shattered, rolled over twice, kicked against a 914/6 and had a Torque Converter dropped on in. People need to be specific.

It is actually pretty much better now. Cane is still required for long walks or IKEA expeditions [two total]. The official color is PLAID, though I have not figured out which tartan. It does not match either the McAllisters or Montgomerys and there is not a McBear tartan - YET. This might have to be the genisis of the McBear tartan. It seems apropos.

Being smart is knowing the difference, in a sticky situation between a well delivered anecdote and a well delivered antidote - bear.
