Here's a real Holden !
The LC Torana GTR XU-1 was launched in July 1970. Destined to take over the mantle as Holden’s motorsport champion, it bucked the trend towards larger racing machines like the Monaro GTS 350 it replaced on the track. The GTR-XU1 was also the first Holden to make use of aerodynamic spoilers, fitted front and rear WOOOOooo. 72 Bathurst enduro the Torana’s improved handling and power proved decisive in a race best remembered for Peter Brock’s inspirational drive to victory in treacherous wet conditions.

Thanks, but I don't know what to tell you. I am quite sure it was a '55. It looked just like a '55 Chevy Bel Air car, but was a very elegant pick-up--white w/ a red interior. Maybe it wasn't actually an El Camino, but I am sure that is what it was... I looked for a pic but could not find one. Believe me I would not mistake the vehicle I learned to drive in. Is it possible that they made a limited edition '55 El Camino? I can see it in my mind as clear as the computer I am typing on now. This is an interesting mystery. I am going to look into it and see if I can get to the bottom of it...

After a quick search I was only able to find this seriously basterdized version of the truck I used to drive:

1955 Chevrolet El Camino For Sale

So at least I know I'm not going crazy! Hope that helps my credibility...

Bastardized is right.... Someone chopped up a perfectly good 55 chevy.... There is no such thing as a 55 El Camino.... just 55 chevys that have been chopped up.... 59 was the first year... Just because someone got drunk with a welder doesn't make it an El Camino..... Look at the add you linked to... first words are "custom inside and out..." I can see it as clearly as the bong I am hitting right now....

I will see your ranchero, raise you a Porsche, and call..... YouTube - Porsche 928 GTS six wheel pickup

I did not have the time to look for a stock example. The cameo had chrome bumper to bumper with the style of the 210 post

Except for the wheels that looks just like it. It's even white w/ red interior. I think all of them were the same... It was quite an attention-getter in its day!
